TurboTax TaxCaster Terms of Service and License Agreement Tax Year 2023
Part of the MFA identity authentication and verification process may involve Intuit sending text message(s) containing security code(s) to your telephone number. You agree to receive these text message(s) from Intuit containing security code(s) as part of the MFA process. All features, services, support, prices, offers, terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. Information in the many web pages that are linked to Intuit’s Website comes
from a variety of sources. Some of this information comes from official
Intuit licensees, but much of it comes from unofficial or unaffiliated
organizations and individuals, both internal and external to Intuit. Intuit
does not author, edit, or monitor these unofficial pages or links.
You may provide Intuit your feedback, suggestions or ideas for the Site. You grant Intuit a perpetual, worldwide, fully transferable, sublicensable,
irrevocable, fully paid-up, royalty free license to use your feedback,
suggestions and ideas in any way, including in future modifications of the
Site, other products or services, advertising or marketing materials. The Site may include a community forum or other social features that enable
you to exchange Content and information with other users of the Site and
the public. Intuit does not support and is not responsible for the Content
in these community forums. Users may post hypertext links to content of third parties for which Intuit
is not responsible.
- Intuit is
not obligated to provide a compatible version of the Services (including but
not limited to a compatible mobile app) for all mobile devices, operating
systems or telecommunication providers, all of which are subject to change
by Intuit at any time without notice to you. - We want to be transparent about how we use personal information and about
your rights in our Privacy Statement. - You agree that for returns with “married filing jointly”
filing status, both spouses are deemed to be customers of Intuit and subject
to the terms of this Agreement. - Intuit is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined in the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) or any similar state law.
- You may use certain
versions of the Services to self-prepare and electronically file your
federal tax return and/or your state tax return. - TurboTax will calculate whether you should use itemized deductions or the Standard Deduction to lower your taxable income as much as possible.
Users may direct Intuit to retrieve their own information maintained online by third-parties with which they have customer relationships, maintain accounts or engage in financial transactions (“Account Information”). Intuit works with one or more online service providers to access this Account Information. Intuit does not review the Account Information for accuracy, legality or non-infringement. Intuit is not responsible for the Account Information or products and services offered by or on third-party sites. You are required to pay AAA’s initial filing fee, but
Intuit will reimburse you for this filing fee at the conclusion of the
arbitration to the extent it exceeds the fee for filing a complaint in a
federal or state court in your county of residence or in Santa Clara
County, California.
In some cases, you may need to accept changes to this Agreement to continue
using the Platform. If you do not agree to the changes, you may stop using
the Platform or terminate your account. We want to be transparent about how we use personal information and about
your rights in our Privacy Statement. You are not included in lists maintained by the United States or other
applicable jurisdictions prohibiting transactions maintained by the United
States or other applicable jurisdictions prohibiting transactions with and
the export of US products to certain entities, people, and jurisdictions. Please note that Section 512(f) of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act may impose liability for damages on any person who knowingly sends meritless notices of infringement.
Additional eligibility requirements for non-tax services in QuickBooks Live
Full-Service Tax (including bookkeeping services provided by QuickBooks) may
apply and are detailed in the QuickBooks terms of service. You will provide accurate, up-to-date account information and securely
manage such information, including usernames and passwords. We may include new and/or updated pre-release and trial features in the
Platform and such features are provided as-is.
Intuit Accountants (Professional Tax Software)
Your access and use of the Services may be interrupted from time to time for any of several reasons, including, without limitation, the malfunction of equipment, periodic updating, maintenance or repair of the Services or other actions that Intuit, in its sole discretion, may elect to take. In no event will Intuit be liable to any party for any loss, cost, or damage that results from any scheduled or unscheduled downtime. If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your Registration or Account Information for the Services, you agree to notify Intuit immediately at the email address –
Governing Law
Intuit may terminate your use of the Site based on our reasonable suspicion
that your activities, business or products are objectionable or promote,
support or engage in any of the prohibited uses described above. Maybe cutting it close is one of many tiny ways you rage against the machine. USE WITH YOUR MOBILE DEVICE
Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation
and enforcement of this arbitration provision and that you and Intuit are
each waiving the right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class
action. This arbitration provision shall turbotax terms of service survive termination of this
Agreement and/or the termination of the Site. Despite what its misleading advertisements promise, TurboTax usually costs money. The majority of tax filers don’t qualify for its free tax-filing service.
Payment & Cancellations
The parties agree that the AAA has
discretion to modify the amount or timing of any administrative or
arbitration fees due under the AAA Rules where it deems appropriate,
provided that such modification does not increase the AAA fees to you or
Intuit and you and Intuit waive any objection to such fee modification. (b) For TurboTax Live Assisted and TurboTax Live Full Service, Intuit
may charge you for these Services before the Services are performed or once
our expert prepares your return, whether or not you choose to file it. The price for your
use of various part(s) or version(s) of the Services is the published price
at the time you pay for such part(s) or version(s) of the Services. Your
price will not change once you pay for your use of such part(s) or
version(s) of the Services. You and Intuit agree that good-faith informal efforts to resolve disputes
often can result in a prompt, low-cost and mutually beneficial outcome. If you are
represented by counsel, your counsel may participate in the conference as
well, but you agree to fully participate in the conference.
Intuit is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined in the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) or any similar state law. Whenever Intuit transmits your data (including any data bearing on your creditworthiness such your consumer report or credit score) to a third party, it does so on your behalf at your specific instruction for the purpose of providing information to you concerning a product or service you desire. In connection with Partner Offers, the Services may provide links to other web sites belonging to Intuit advertisers and other third parties. The Services may also to allow you to apply for the Partner Offer without leaving the Services’ websites. Intuit does not endorse, warrant or guarantee the products or services available through the Partner Offers (or any other third-party products or services advertised on or linked from our site), whether or not sponsored. Intuit is not an agent or broker or otherwise responsible for the activities or policies of those web sites.

federal tax return prior to when TurboTax begins accepting and processing
electronically filed returns and you want to file it electronically, you
will need to log in to TurboTax Online on or after the date Intuit first
begins processing electronic filings to complete the electronic filing
process. You can file a Tax Year 2023 federal tax return through the
Services through October 15, 2024 or as otherwise permitted by the IRS and
supported by Intuit.
You may cancel your account and Intuit may suspend or terminate your use of
the Platform. For mobile apps, removing the app may not cancel your
subscription or delete your data. Intuit may collect, derive or generate deidentified and/or aggregated data
regarding your usage of or the performance of the Platform, including data
derived from your Content. Intuit will own all such data and may use this
data without restriction, including, but not limited to, operating,
analyzing, improving, or marketing Intuit’s products and services, including
the Platform.
